How good and pleasant it is
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>when God\u2019s people live together in unity!
It is like precious oil poured on the head,
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0running down on the beard,
running down on Aaron\u2019s beard,
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0down on the collar of his robe.
It is as if the dew of Hermon
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the Lord bestows his blessing,
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0even life forevermore. <\/p>Psalm 133:1-3<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed!\n Fellowship in His Name is the greatest opportunity for coming together \nas a parish family. As our parish of St. Anna’s is soon to celebrate our\n Five Year Anniversary, we must look to every opportunity, as the \nPsalmist proclaims, to receive the Lord’s blessings through our sacred \nfellowship. We are a community established in Christ, grounded in His \nChurch, obedient to Sacred Tradition, interceded for by the Saints and \nengaged in a blessed & sacred relationship with the Theotokos, and \nespecially her mother, our Matron St. Anna. As is continually evident, \nour St. Anna offers her prayers unto the Lord for the direction, \nsustenance, mission, success, direction, motivation and purpose of our \nparish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are the subject of her prayers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are a product of her prayers! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are an answer to her prayers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\n honor of our great Matron Saint Anna, who through Christ, has blessed \nour community, delivered to us her precious relic, has identified a \nproper space to establish our church, and continues to direct our path, \nwe will come together in these next several days to commemorate her \nprecious Fest of the Dormition of St. Anna – our parish Name Day. Let \nthe Festivities begin:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annual Name Day Picnic
At our New Church Location – 9201 South 1300 East Sandy, Utah.

Chaired\n by Elaine Peterson and hosted by the Men’s Ministry Team, this is our \nopportunity to come together, have an amazing time, get an outdoor feel \nfor our new grounds, enjoy delectable cooking, watch our kids have fun, \ndance to the music of Chris Dokos (no, I will not be playing this time) \nand most importantly, engage in fellowship. I hope and pray that you are\n planning on coming. This should be our biggest picnic celebration of \nour five years – on our new property!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, July 24th at 5:00 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Great Vespers for the Dormition of St. Anna<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Included in our state-holiday-family-traditions,\n should be our attending Great Vespers for our Parish Feast. Wednesday \nevening services are scheduled late enough in the day as to not compete \nwith your time at the park, and early enough in the evening to not \ncompete with your evening BBQs & fireworks. We will gather together \nto pray Vespers as we lift up and venerate her holy Relic. We will be \njoined by visiting clergy and parishioners from area communities. Please\n don’t miss out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday, July 25th at 9:30 am and 10:30 am<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\n Feast Day of St. Anna’s! Please join us for the Orthros at 9:30 am \nfollowed by the Divine Liturgy. The Women’s Ministry Team has put \ntogether a simple, yet appropriate fellowship gathering following \nservices. The Name Day of our parish affords us the opportunity to once \nagain, gather in blessed fellowship; united under the banner of St. \nAnna’s Dormition – her falling asleep in the hope of the Resurrection of\n which her maternal Grandson provides! Please, be with us for the Divine\n Services of our parish Feast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As\n a special blessing and surprise, I would like to inform you that our \nlatest icon has arrived from Brasov, Romania; completed by the hand of \nour iconographer Andreea Ioana Bagiu. This latest contribution to the \nspiritual life of our parish, the icon of St. Anna Praying in her \nGarden, will\n be available this Sunday for veneration, before it is framed and placed\n on the wall above her altar shrine. Andreea has been most generous with\n her time and gifts to the glory of God and for the benefit of our \ncommunity. I am ever thankful that she continues to provide our parish \nwith hand-written iconography filled with God’s grace and infused with \nher love and tenderness for Christ and His Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many,\n many people have worked so hard to make all of these events possible. \nPlease take the time out of your busy summer plans and give thanks to \nthe maternal influence that protects and inspires us. To be a church of \nSt. Anna, the mother of the Theotokos, is indeed a blessing and an \nhonor. As we gratefully acknowledge her prayers and intercessions she \nbrings to Christ on our behalf, let us do so by coming together for the \nsacred services and fellowship opportunities that are provided in her \nname.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
